How does it work?

Choose a resort and room type from the Accommodation Directory of Koh Tao . Once you filled out the enquiry form, we will contact you by mail / phone. If the requested resort is available, we will send you an email, that includes a payment link to PayPal. Once we receive your advance payment, we can reconfirm your reservation.

In case the resort is not available, we will try to find you an alternative resort.

Unfortunately the amount of required advance payment is different from each resort or season, but most of them want at least 40% of the total price in advance for a confirmed booking. As soon as we receive a payment we forwarded it to the booked resort and send you a confirmation back.

Information about Koh Tao

oh Tao is to the northeast of Surat Thani, about 38 kilometers from Koh Phangan, and about 64 kilometers away from Chumphon.

Since 2005 it is now really easy to get to Koh Tao. You can drive with one of the high speed catamaran boats. You can also arrive from one of the neighboring islands (Koh Phangan or Koh Samui).

Diving in and around Koh Tao's beautiful coral reefs is the islands main attraction. Resorts on Koh Tao offer a wide range of accommodation to fit most budgets.

Traveling around the island and visiting other beaches and bays pretty easy.. Just off the concrete main road you have to be careful when driving on dirty roads. Pick -ups and taxies can be found almost everywhere.

Attracted by the beautiful coral reefs surrounding the island, and the growth in sport diving, a number of companies have set up diving businesses on the island, these companies in turn designed exclusive resorts for their clientele, and over the years several of these resorts have become quite plush. Now a days, you can get everything from basic simple bamboo bungalows with thatched roofs to elegant high class villas with their very own exclusive swimming pool.

The name Ko Tao means translated 'Turtle Island', people tell that the name is because of Koh Tao's shape which is meant to look like an inverted down turtle whilst other people say its from the days when the water surrounding KoTao were rich with turtles and Koh Tao was their breeding area.

In those days getting to KohTao required a treacherous boat trip from the main land or near by islands, if and when the weather and seas permitted but the population of the island continued to grow firmly all the same, even when simple life was hard without much reward. Departures and arrivals were on the local coconut boats, and even then delays of several days were common place, so back to the hammock and the world of dreams, the boat will come another day. Consequently, as its reputation for beautiful nature, unique marine life and amazing landscapes grew, better access was made available when better built and safer boats were brought in to handle the number of visitors being attracted to the island.

The early 80’s brought to KoTao some of the very first backpackers from Koh Phangan who were looking for some thing new away from the crowds and masses going nuts for the full moon parties on Koh Phangan. Here they discovered something more then just another party place and soon the backpacker network was buzzing about the great recently discovered tropical island paradise of Koh Tao. In ore by the serenity, the back of beyond aura, and of course the cheap living, back packers soon arrived in large numbers.
