How does it work?

Choose a resort and room type from the Accommodation Directory of Koh Tao . Once you filled out the enquiry form, we will contact you by mail / phone. If the requested resort is available, we will send you an email, that includes a payment link to PayPal. Once we receive your advance payment, we can reconfirm your reservation.

In case the resort is not available, we will try to find you an alternative resort.

Unfortunately the amount of required advance payment is different from each resort or season, but most of them want at least 40% of the total price in advance for a confirmed booking. As soon as we receive a payment we forwarded it to the booked resort and send you a confirmation back.

Information about Koh Tao

oh Tao is to the northeast of Surat Thani, about 38 kilometers from Koh Phangan, and about 64 kilometers away from Chumphon.

Since 2005 it is now really easy to get to Koh Tao. You can drive with one of the high speed catamaran boats. You can also arrive from one of the neighboring islands (Koh Phangan or Koh Samui).

Diving in and around Koh Tao's beautiful coral reefs is the islands main attraction. Resorts on Koh Tao offer a wide range of accommodation to fit most budgets.

Traveling around the island and visiting other beaches and bays pretty easy.. Just off the concrete main road you have to be careful when driving on dirty roads. Pick -ups and taxies can be found almost everywhere.

As Ko Tao´s reputation spread and quickly got bigger as it widely became known all over world through international travellers and adventurous visitors. During the last 11 odd years the island has changed in many different ways as it developed to become one of the largest dive destinations in Thailand, bringing all levels of divers and water lovers alike. Local fishermen and farmers quickly realised that major business people from other places were creating their island to accommodate to the needs of all these new customers and they also, quickly began to open their own businesses to fulfill all the customers demands. From the first bamboo A-Frame huts on the beach for back packers other wise known as farangs.

On the 18th of june 1899, the then king of Thailand King Chulalongkorn (Rama 5 1868-1910) visited Koh Tao and left his sign as evidence on a big rock at Jor Por Ror Bay (near,next to] Sairee Beach. This boulder is worshipped even today and get treated with great respect.

In the late 1990's KoTao´s first, and until recently, only road was laid, the road runs North to South from the far side of Sairee beach to the southern settlement of Chalok Baan Kao. A new road is under construction on the way to Tanote Bay, and when completed it will open up the far side of the island for better development, it is accessable with care at the moment with 4x4. KoTao now has twenty four hour electricity on the island too and finally they have had a water reservoir built to ensure that even in the dry periods there is enough water for all. Occasionally progress can be a wonderful thing, it´s a good thing the island has maintained its chilled atmosphere, ]it is,it's] still nigh on impossible to find a crowded beach.

Immediately following the terrible events of the December 2004 Tsunami, the caliber of visitors visiting KoTao have changed, previously it had been a Mecca for backpackers, year out students, and young travellers along their way south to Malaysia or North to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and beyond. Suddenly the island ferries were disgorging people with suitcases, not backpacks, portable computers not guitars, and what is this; sneekers not flip-flops?!, and some had children too. A culture shock to most people, but generally the island reacted with a passion to these new visitors, over the following months much change has taken place, new resorts, with more facilities, a new array of restaurants offering different food from all over the globe, and even things for families to do during day time, in case you get bored with laying on the beach.
